The disembodiment of every proportion. The negation of every perfection.
The uncanny side of the human body and its image replication.
A site-specific AI Art gallery on Instagram.
In a site-specific project, I'm exploring the new meaning of beauty and its narrative and representation on social media to create short circuits. AI is used to make everything magnificent, splendid, fantastic, and acceptable. Even the weird is brilliant. AI is creating toxic models of superhuman synthetic beauty. By erasing imperfections, not just physical but also emotional, they cancel and deny reality.
With AI, I generate deformed, disfigured, and suffering faces and bodies, which I tactically insert into a content stream where they are unexpected thanks to the use of hashtags in a context like Instagram, which wants us all to be beautiful, radiant, happy, and perfect. FAKE!
Imperfection should be accepted and respected, not hidden out of shame.
Pain should be understood, confronted, and healed, not masked out of fear of being and appearing fragile.
I'm exaggerating a counter-trend to talk about inclusion and self-respect.
This is an ongoing project. The images here on display are just a selection.
