Databending is the glitch art technic I use to create most of the images published on this website. It consists in altering the structure of informations (data) contained in an image file format like .jpg and .png. This can be achieved importing those files in softwares not designed for image editing. Image file formats are interpreted as data and imported in softwares fr hex editing and audio editing and then exported again as images.
Action Databending takes inspiration from Jackson Pollock's "Action Painting" and it consits in performing databending live in front of a public. The audience can see the final artworks but also experience the whole creative process. Performative glitch art.
